Ephesians 6:11 (NASB) Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

We use them for protection. Not many people realize that there is a part of firefighting that requires tarps. We carry tarps to cover the homeowners’ belongings, to protect them from water and other debris that could ruin them. The tarp on the rig I worked on had holes it. One day, we got out some needle and thread and sewed the holes shut. Today's verse speaks of putting on the full armor of God so that we may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. If we had used the tarps with the holes in them, we would not really protect much. The water and debris would have gone through and ruined their possessions. Kind of like not wearing the full armor of God. If we leave small holes in our armor, Satan will find a way to get into our lives and ruin things. When was the last time you checked your armor? Are there holes in the protection you wear given from God to keep us safe? If we don’t check it or put it on each day, we will end up ruined and unable to be saved.
