Daily Devotional for Wednesday September 13, 2017

Proverbs 4:1-2 (NASB) Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, For I give you sound teaching; Do not abandon my instruction.

Our children are hurting. Have you seen the stats for youth suicide? Whether or not we have children of our own, when we came to Christ we joined His Body of believers. His family. We are related to each other. The children that are out there with no one to help are our family. I had the unique pleasure of watching the presentation of Amherst Christian Academy perform their spring program. I watched as these children performed a human video all about Christ. In a world where many kids are turning to drugs, alcohol, and sex to the point that they are killing themselves, it was great to see some youth celebrating Christ. As I thought about it, it was because there were adults there who cared about them. If you speak with the principal of the school about the children, he will get teary-eyed with the love he has for them. My prayer is that we all could get teary-eyed for God’s children – each and every one of them.

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
