Daily Devotional for Sunday October 21, 2018

Scripture:

Romans 10:13 – “For ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (NASB)

Observation:

With the heavy rains, we knew there would be flooding. With the water over the tops of our boots and continuing to rise, we ventured into the water to get to the woman sitting on top of her car. With each step in the storm water the water would sweep us away, but we were tied to a life line, a simple piece of rope, that gave us the courage to continue through the water and storm. Today's verse speaks of whoever, yes that us, will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. You see, we will go through storms in this life; some of those storms will have nothing to do with the weather, but if we call out to the best "life line" available in any situation, we may just weather the storms of life and death. So if you find yourself with the water rising higher than you could ever imagine, call out to Jesus! He is a "life-saver." We did make it to the car and carried the lady to safety. Just the same, Jesus will carry you to safety, but you must call on His name. A simple 911 call to Jesus can bring saving grace. Why not call on Him now? His line is never busy; you won't be put on hold or have to press 1 for the operator. It's not a matter of weather, but whether you call.
