Proverbs 2:2-5 – “Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will discern the fear of the Lord And discover the knowledge of God.” (NASB)

Which one to turn? While working on a weed eater (weed wacker), I needed to know which screw to turn and the direction to turn it. The motor was coughing and wouldn't run at a low or high idle. Knowing that there are two tiny screws that needed adjusting, I had to figure out which one to turn which way. I had to hit the books and google to see which screw adjusted the high or low idle and which way to turn it to get the machine working properly. Sometimes in life, we can get our screws all out of whack and find ourselves unsure sure which way to turn to fix the problem. Enter today's verse: it speaks of making our ear attentive to wisdom, our heart to understanding and to even cry for discernment, lifting our voice for understanding, seeking her as a hidden treasure. Then and only then will we discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. There is no better place to turn for wisdom and understanding in this thing called life. Knowing which way God wants us to turn will have our motors running the way it should be. So seek His wisdom, and He will be able to trim those parts off that need trimming!
