Scripture:

Isaiah 50:10 – “Who is among you that fears the Lord, that obeys the voice of His servant that walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.” (NASB)

Observation:

It was dark, and we needed to get to the part of the building that was on fire. I could hear the officer in front of me telling me to keep following him. To be honest, there was a part of me that wanted to turn back and head out of the dark building, but I knew what our job was: to find and put out the fire. So I continued to follow after him. Today’s verse speaks of obeying the voice of His servant that walks in the darkness and has no light – let him trust in the Lord and rely on God. For men, turning our will over to God and those called to lead can be a struggle, but if we put our faith and trust in God and His will, we will find the light. However, are we searching for the light? Eventually, we found the seat of the fire and put it out, but I had to trust the officer. I had to trust that he would not lead me astray. Neither will God; he will never lead us astray. So let’s follow Him!
