Colossians 1:11 – “…being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.” (ESV)

It seemed like every time we got it put out, another fire popped up. While battling a blaze in an old warehouse, we spent hours putting water on the fire. It seemed like every time we thought we had it out, another hot spot would erupt in flame. Walking back to the chief, I said, “It doesn't seem to want to go.” He replied, "Keep fighting it and eventually we'll get it!" Today's scripture speaks of being strengthened with all power according to God's glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy. There will be things in this life that will cause us to use every bit of energy, every resource we have, and it still may not be enough, but with God's help, we will find the endurance to carry on! The fire eventually was put out. We, exhausted, returned to the fire house to fight the next battle that came. So if you're in a battle, find strength to endure through Christ, and He will see us through to the end. He will give us strength for the next one! Battle on my friends in the strength of His glorious might! By the way, notice how the joy comes at the end of the verse? Our joy will be there waiting for us after the battle!
