2 Timothy 3:17 – “So that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (NASB)

Before we headed out, I made sure I checked everything. I didn't want to miss the big one! Every time I head out fishing, I check my gear before I leave. I check the reels to make sure they are working correctly; I check the line to make sure that it's not cut in any way. One small mistake can make the difference between landing the big one or watching it swim away. Today's verse states that the man of God should be equipped for every good work. How we are doing in that department? Have we checked our gear, made sure we are spending time in God's Word, spending time in prayer? Are we meeting with other men to hold us accountable to the things of God? Little things like this can make the difference between being ready or not. I heard once that there's a fine line between fishing and standing on shore - one is an action the other is... well just standing around. So let's make sure we are equipped for what the world will throw at us. You never want the big one to get away!
