Daily Devotional for Wednesday November 29, 2017

Colossians 4:8 (NASB) For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

My job was to carry the hose, the pump operator was to deliver the water, and other men had other jobs. Not everyone was called to do the same job. Each firefighter who arrives on scene has a specific job to do. The chief has the responsibility to encourage them in their respective roles. I pray that today’s verse will help open your eyes to being an encouraging person. Now, not all of us will be, and if that isn’t the gift given to you, it’s okay. Let me say that again… It’s OKAY! We are all the body of Christ, and we all can’t be the hands. Some of us must be the feet, mouth piece, or heart. So, if we are saying, “I am not good at this.” It’s okay. God has blessed you with another gift. The key is to keep searching, trying, and using the gift He gave you to bring Him glory. All of you who are reading this are an encouragement to me. The fact that you take the time and read these messages, and then some of you pass them on to others, floors me. Thank you for that. May His spirit continue to walk with each of us unfolding new truths every day and to God be the glory!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
