Scripture:

Isaiah 57:15 – “For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” (NASB)

Observation:

My wife and daughter returned from a four-day volleyball tournament. During those four days at home, I saw signs of them living there, but they weren’t actually there. I could sort of feel their presence, but it wasn’t the same. I wasn’t complete until I hugged them the night the came back. Only then did I know that all was well. Many times in our lives, we may feel God’s presence but don’t feel Him there completely. We have chosen things in our life that have made us more important than Him. Oh sure, we keep just enough of “Him” around to feel secure but not 100% secure. What are we afraid of? We really need to let go of us and take ahold of the concept that He loves us and is there for us. Let His will be done.  The best part is shared in today’s verse: God wants to revive the lowly and revive the heart of the contrite. Today can be the day we fell Him 100%, but it will take us admitting our failures, our sin, and give Him all of us. Why experience part of Him when we can live with all of Him? It all comes down to choice.
