Scripture:

Romans 13:14 – “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.” (NASB)

Observation:

Boots – check, pants – check, coat – check, helmet – check, air tank – check, gloves – check… going down the list of things I wear going into a fire, I had to make sure I had each of them and that they were in good condition. My life depended on them. Running into a burning building with anything less than the best protection is a foolish thing. So why would we want to face life without the best protection we can get? Today’s verse speaks of putting on the Lord Jesus Christ and the second part is to make no provision for the flesh in regards to its lusts. Men, it seems at every turn in life, we will have some temptation for the lust of our flesh. Why wouldn’t we want to put on Christ, the best protection against those temptations? If I don’t put my fire gear on and wear it properly, I will get burned. If we don’t put on Christ and wear Him properly, we too will get burned. Let’s not get burned today by the temptations of life, put on Christ!
