Proverbs 11:25 – “The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered.” (NASB)

When we start really living for Christ and become an encourager, Satan will begin his tricks and lies. “What are you doing that for?” “Why are you wasting your time?” “Don’t you have better things to do?” “How is that going to help you?” “What’s in it for you?” We can listen to his lies and possibly believe them, or we can stand firm in God’s Word like today’s Bible verse. Not all of us are called to be encouragers; we each have different gifts from God. However, if we never try to encourage, we will never know if that’s one of the many gifts we have been given. So try it on and see if it fits. Each of us can think of one person that could use an encouraging word. All we need now is to step out in faith and think of someone other than ourselves. Hey, one encouraging word to someone today may help them past the brink of total despair. We could, by one kind word, save a person from making a terrible mistake. Wouldn’t that be something?
