Daily Devotional for Saturday November 04, 2017

Philippians 3:10-11 (NASB) … that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and [a]the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11 [b]in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Every morning I wake up and put in my hearing aids. I must admit there are days when I just don’t want to put them in. I wonder, “Why… why me?” Then I take the time to think about how my life has changed since getting the hearing aids. How through the deafness, I could hear the Lord’s calling. I think about the lives He has touched through my deafness, and I would go through it all again. You see, when it becomes about me, I have lost my focus on Jesus and the Father’s plan and purpose. Each of us have one thing or another that we are struggling with today. Spend some time in prayer and come to a place where you understand that the pain and suffering we go through makes us stronger. If we go through trials and don’t learn from them, we will go through them again and again. I don’t know about you, but once is enough for me. Praise Him through the struggles for they build our character.

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
