Exodus 14:14 (NASB) The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.
“Sit still here and be quiet!” While I am not a hunter, I had the opportunity to go turkey hunting with a friend. I was more interested in learning how to call a wild bird in than actually shooting it, since I don't own a gun. What struck me most while sitting quietly as the sun came up, I began to see things in nature that I have never seen. Today's verse speaks of how the Lord will fight for us while we keep silent. I couldn't help but think of how we miss things in life because we are too busy being loud and moving about. As I sat there with my back against a tree, quietly watching, a squirrel actually crawled across my legs. To sit quietly and be that close to nature was truly an awesome experience. I can only imagine what God has in store for us while we sit quietly and silent and let Him be God. Maybe today is the day we take a moment to sit silent, in a loud and moving world, to hear the Lord fight for us. Maybe it’s keeping our mouth shut when a fellow co-worker is looking to pick a fight or remaining silent when our wife spouts off about something we should have done. Letting the Lord fight for us is dying to self and living in Him. It always comes down to choice. What are you going to choose? Either way, be silent about it and see what you've been missing.
