Psalm 107:29 “He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed.” (NASB)

It came upon us so fast; we didn't have time to do anything. While spending the afternoon fishing, a storm came upon the lake with wind and crashing waves. We didn't have time to run to shore. So, we just bunkered down and rode it out. Before you know it, the storm passed, and the clouds gave way to a beautiful clear sky. Today's verse speaks of God causing the storm to be still and the waves of the seas were hushed. Just imagine our powerful God telling nature how to behave. Imagine what He can and will do in the storms of our life. No matter what you're going through: storms, turbulence, difficulties, if we turn to God and let Him be God, He will cause the storms in our life to be still. The waves will calm, and we can get back to living. Now we may have to ride the storm out while He does His work, but He promises the Son will shine upon us. All we have to do is let Him pilot our ship through the storms of this life.
