1 Corinthians 4:2 “In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.” (NASB)
We needed a reference point. We were hired to put up a fence along the back of the customer's yard. The only problem was that there was not specific reference point to go off. So, we had to find the survey of the property and begin to take measurements to make sure that where we were placing the fence was indeed the proper place. Today's verse speaks of stewards, those in charge, being found trustworthy. We could have just guessed at the location and made some quick estimates about where the fence would be, but in honoring God with the way we did the job, we had to make sure that where we placed the fence was trustworthy. That meant doing the extra work to be sure we had the right location. In life, we should be aligning ourselves with something - a reference point to make sure that what and where we are doing this thing called life is trustworthy. There is no better reference, no better place to find the truth than God's Word, but like putting up the fence, if we had not have go to the survey, we would have been in the wrong place. Don't be in the wrong place in life; read God's Word. (t is the best reference in this life - that's if we want to be trustworthy.
