Psalms 25:4-5 (NASB) Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; For you I wait all the day.
We should have listened. While hiking with a few friends, we came to a fork in the road. Not knowing which way to go, we sat for a while to think about what we were going to do. As we sat there, along one of the paths came another hiker. “Don't go that way,” he said, and then continued his journey. Thinking we knew better, we chose THAT path. It was filled with difficulties. After hiking for a few miles, we ended up at a dead end and had to retrace our steps. Ugh! Today's verse speaks of asking the Lord to teach us His ways, to lead us in His path of truth. If we try to do things our own way, it only ends at a dead end, and then we have to retrace our path. The smart way to travel thru this thing called life is to take the advice of those who have gone on before us. Learning from their mistakes so we don't make our own. God speaks through others to help us find His way and path. Travel well my friends.
