Proverbs 22:29 “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure men.” (NASB)
You may have to call him two or three times to get in touch with him. I was blessed to partner with a carpenter whose skill was far above the average guy. His craftsmanship could be seen in everything he did; he cared for what he was doing, and because of that his talents were sought by many. Today's verse speaks of those men who are skilled at what they do. They will stand before kings but not before obscure men. The reason many call my friend several times is that he is always busy. People are always looking for a man who is skilled and is a man of his word. Thus, the two or three calls to reach him. Are we skillful at what we do? Are we honoring God by how we do our job and how we do life? Are there people looking at us and saying they can tell we are men of our word? Are we men of His Word? If the answer is no, then maybe we need to do a better job at what we do. We are working for the King in all we do!
