Daily Devotional for Saturday May 19, 2018

Psalm 31:14 (NASB) But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, “You are my God.”

We just didn’t get there on time. During one of the nights at the firehouse, we responded to a house fire where someone died. I struggled to find the reason why. Sometimes it’s during the difficult times of testing that we really need to trust in Him and allow His will to be done. It may be painful… There may be tears, but do we really think our God, who loved us so much He gave us His Son, would want to hurt us in some way? He is a God of love, and He loves each of us despite our shortcomings. I had to accept that He is my God and learn to trust Him with all the details of my life – the good, the bad, the ugly, and during those times when I just don’t understand. Do you trust Him only when things go right, or do you trust Him in ALL circumstances?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
