Ephesians 2:20-21 (ESV) … built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
It starts with the dream of two people, then the architect, the engineer, and the builders. However, it's still not complete. In building a house, all the necessary steps need to be taken and even when complete, it is still just a house. Today's verse speaks of church, and how it is constructed. So, the house is done, but it's not a home. A home only comes when people move in, start living and experiencing life, then the house becomes a home. It’s the same for a church - built upon the cornerstone of Christ, then the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Even then, it can be only a structure. The "real" church begins when people begin to grow together, joined as one. The building becomes a temple. It’s still not complete though until people carry the light in them to the world. Then it's church. What part of the structure are YOU?
