Luke 14:27 – Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple (NASB).

Today we devote ourselves to “join the revival revolution,” and we may think that we will read about some far away country and how the Holy Spirit is moving there. However, the reality is that today is going to challenge us in ways we never imagined. When I had finally come to grips with losing the fire dept., building houses, and my handyman business, I needed to ask myself the toughest question I was ever asked, “Will I live for Jesus or will I live for myself?” Living for Jesus meant letting go of who I thought I was, letting go of all my desires, and giving God the reins of my life. Looking back, it was the best decision I ever made. It was hard to die to myself, pick up my cross and follow Jesus. That is what Jesus will ask of us today. The question is will we pick up our cross and follow Him today?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
