Isaiah 30:21 “Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” (NASB)

It was almost as if someone was right behind me. While crawling through the building filled with smoke and heat, I was heading in one direction, when I felt something inside me say, “Don't go that way; go this way.” I had to stop for a second to see if someone was behind me. I knew my partner had gone another way to get to check for anyone trapped but I was sure I had heard someone. As I brushed it off and began to crawl towards my left, I heard it again "Don't go that way!" Today's verse speaks of the Holy Spirit speaking to us, about the way that we should walk especially when we are on the wrong path. Maybe you've felt it too, a still small voice saying which way to go. Whether you have ever been baptized in the Holy Spirit or not, the Spirit of God still resides within us. His breath is what gives us life; so why wouldn't He speak to us if we are on the wrong path? After the fire was over and the smoke cleared, I went back into the building where I heard the voice. There, five feet in front of me, was an elevator shaft with the doors blocked open. If I had continued the path I was on, I would have fallen to my death. Sometimes the path we are on in life will lead to death. Listen to the Holy Spirit and follow where He leads, it could just save your life!
