Romans 5:5 "…and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (NASB)
I would never have believed it back then, but I held on to the hope that things would be different. It was during the first years of our marriage, when things were at an all-time low. My anger outbursts had caused so much pain in the family that I didn't think it would be possible to have a relationship that was God honoring, but I wanted it so badly. Today's verse speaks of having a hope that does not disappoint. The love of God has been poured out with in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us. It wasn't until I began to truly believe God's Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit to change my heart, that things began to be different. My wife and I began to pray together, to talk God, to live God to each other, and not just when things were going well, but when things were going bad. It all comes down to hope, and the hope that God gives out doesn't disappoint. If you're in the bad right now, grab a hold of the hope of Christ. Begin to pray, seek His face, seek the Holy Spirit, and the love of God will transform your heart!
