1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” (NASB)

“Get another shovel!” We had broken three shovel handles and two pick axe hands; yet, the stump still didn’t move an inch. While trying to remove a customer’s tree, we had a very hard time getting the stump out. We had shoveled around it, used the pick axe to chop the roots and yet the stump was immovable. Today’s verse speaks of being steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. If we were as immovable as the tree stump was, we may just see great things being done for Christ and His Church. Too often we have become soft and easily moved on the things of Christ. Maybe it’s time we dig our roots into God’s Word and become steadfast and immovable for Christ. Let Satan break a few shovel handles trying to move us!
