Daily Devotional for Thursday May 03, 2018

Hebrews 13:1-2 (ESV) Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

You never know. I couldn't just pass by; I needed to stop. Sitting at a red light, I happened to see him fall. I didn't really have the time to stop, but how could I not? Today's verse speaks of brotherly love and even entertaining angels. As I pulled over and got out, he was still on the ground. As I walked over I could see his face was filthy, clothes were torn, and he had a bit of an odor. Nevertheless, I offered my hand to help him up. He was more than grateful and offered me a simple thanks. He said, "Can I pray for you?" Well, we both ended up praying for each other before we parted ways. You never know what can happen if we take the time to stop and help. Are your eyes open to those in need? They could be angels…

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
