Daily Devotional for Wednesday May 02, 2018

2 Timothy 1:5 (ESV) I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.

I can still remember hearing them. They meant so much to me. While working with my dad, he handed me the tools and said, "You can do it; I believe in you." What wonderful words to hear, and I pray my daughters have heard them from me. Today's verse shares a message from Paul to young Timothy concerning his faith and where it came from. I wondered if my dad really knew the effects of his words on me. How they inspired me to believe I could do the job before me and other jobs afterwards knowing that he had faith in me. Many times in life, we need to hear those words of faith, words of belief, from one to another. We can begin that legacy. That others will have the faith of our fore fathers. A simple word of faith can inspire. Who will you inspire today?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
