Daily Devotional for Tuesday March 05, 2019

1 Samuel 17:40 “He took his stick in his hand and chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the shepherd’s bag which he had, even in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand; and he approached the Philistine.” (NASB)

I had to start small. While trying to drill a rather large hole in a piece of hardened steel, I first had to start with a small drill bit, and then move to a little larger one keeping the process of using larger and larger drill bits until I got the result I wanted. If I had started with the larger bit at first, I never would have been able to get the job done. Today's verse speaks of David grabbing five small stones to face a giant that stood before him. In life, we will face those obstacles that seem almost imaginable to conquer, but if we start small and allow ourselves to take each step God ordains, we will see the results like David did. A small thing can take down a giant. Don't despair when you think the object is too large to move or conquer. God will allow the littlest things to knock down the largest obstacles in your life.
