Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (NASB)
As we laid out the wood boards for the deck, we made sure that each board was cupped the right way. If you lay the boards out with the cup up, the water will puddle and warp the wood. However, if you lay the boards with the cup facing down, the water will shed off them. Today's verse speaks of our Lord looking for someone to send. Isaiah answers, "Here I am, send me!" I couldn't help but think that many of us are facing the wrong way. We hear the Word of God and let it lay upon us. Then there are those who are facing the right way, where the Word of God falls upon them and they, in turn let, it run off and on to others. Maybe we need to re-adjust ourselves so we don't warp, but, in fact, let God run over us and thru us to others. Is our cup facing so the Lord can send us? When God asks, "Whom shall I send," will our answer be, "Here I am, send me?"
