Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.” (NASB)

There is a huge difference. Any man can walk into a vintage auto auction and purchase a restored antique truck or car, but the man who finds an old clunker and begins to restore it, finds pleasure more than just purchasing it. Today's verse speaks of asking God to restore the joy of our salvation and sustaining us with a willing spirit. Even though the time, effort, and pain staking job of restoring an old vehicle will seem almost overwhelming at times, if the man stays firm on the path of restoration, the end result will be something he can be proud of. In life, there will be times of restoration, times of painstaking effort, and action to restore our lives and relationships to a new and better place; we must have a willing spirit and the best place to find that is in God. Ask Him for the willing spirit, the drive, if you will, to see the job completed, but know there will be struggles along the way. If we hold firm to Christ and allow Him to restore us, we will see our lives changed in ways we never imagined possible. Just like that old vintage truck that now drives down the road and turn heads, we can turn heads for Christ in ways we never imagined. Stay strong on the path, and ask God for a willing spirit to keep us steady.
