Daily Devotional for Tuesday March 27, 2018

Scripture:

Proverbs 12:15 (ESV) The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Observation:

I'm glad I took a second to listen to the watchman. While working at a large warehouse fire, my crew and I took a moment to listen to what the watchman said about the fire location. As we entered the building and made our way to the fourth floor, we found it completely engulfed in thick black smoke. Today's verse speaks to us men about the way of the fool and the way of a wise man. As we made our way towards the interior of the building, I remembered the words of the watchman. There's an elevator shaft dead center in the building with no doors. If we continued on the path we thought was right, we would have fallen down the shaft, but remembering the advice of the watchman, we stayed along the outside wall and found the fire. In life, there will be paths that seem right to us, however, if we listen to the advice of godly men, we may just miss the greatest fall of all... falling away from Christ. Let's listen to the advice God sends us, it could just save our lives!

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
