Daily Devotional for Saturday March 24, 2018

Scripture:

Ephesians 5:25 – Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her (NASB).

Observation:

I have to get a new one. When I sold my old truck, I gave away my bumper sticker that read, “I LOVE MY WIFE.” It was not only a sign to the world that I love my wife, but many times that bumper sticker saved me from leaving her side during an argument. Sometimes when we had disagreements, I would want to run from her, get in my truck, and drive away. However, as I approached the old truck, I would see the bumper sticker and ask myself, “Do I? Do I really love her?”  I would answer YES, turn around, go back, and make amends - whether it was to apologize or to better understand what she was going through. I would go back in and fight for us instead of fighting against us. Something as simple as a bumper sticker CAN make the difference. What makes the difference for you when things go from better to worse?

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
