Daily Devotional for Thursday March 22, 2018

Philippians 1:9-10 (ESV) And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

I received a call from a friend who asked me to pray for him. The man was arguing with one of his brothers after the death of their mother. He wanted to fight the will, contest it, thinking that his brother was out to get him. Today's verse speaks of a prayer for love, knowledge, and discernment so that we may be pure and blameless. I asked him one simple question. “Did you speak to you brother about the matter or are you just thinking about the ‘what if’?” We began to pray together, He said that he needed to love his brother, as hard as that was, for many years they were estranged. Sometimes in life, we create problems that are not really there. If we take the time to find the truth, we may just see that love conquers all. No matter what your facing, seek the truth in love. It will make a difference.

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
