Daily Devotional for Wednesday March 21, 2018

Scripture:

Matthew 6:24 (ESV) No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Observation:

No man likes to admit it when they’ve made a mistake… especially when it comes to driving. I wasn't focused while driving and missed the exit. That small mistake took me miles out of my way. Today's verse speaks about serving two masters. How we will be devoted to one and despise the other. I didn't want to admit the reason I was late for the appointment was that I made an error while driving, but I needed to be honest. If I wasn’t honest, I would be serving a lie rather than the truth. No matter what it is, if it takes us away from God and the things of His Word, it will become more important than God. Sure, it was only a driving mistake, but I wasn't focused on what I should have been. In life, if we are not focused upon God, we will go down the wrong path. Don't miss the exit!

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
