Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” (NASB)
I would have expected it if I was ice fishing, but not this! There I was, flat on my back, looking up to the heavens. (I don't think the Holy Spirit had this in mind when He inspired today's scriptures, about setting our mind on things above!) I had fallen on the ice after a recent ice storm where I live. Flat on my back and looking to the heavens, I had a moment where I thanked God I wasn't injured, but it taught me a valuable lesson about keeping an eye on where I step. The verse says to keep our mind on things above. I did that as I got up and thanked God for no apparent injuries, but I couldn't help but think how easy it is to slip in this world. When we take our eyes off Him, and don’t pay attention to His Word, we may just find ourselves flat on our backs! That's never a good place to be so let's keep our focus on Him and our mind on things above. And watch out for ice!
