John 10:11 (NASB) “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
“Ut vivant alli” I did not take Latin in school, but when I became a member of the fire department, I learned a little Latin. Those words are embroidered on the patch of the Buffalo Fire Department. I couldn’t wear the patch without knowing what those words meant. All the training, rookie school, and live burns could only teach me so much, but to live those three words meant understanding the meaning behind them. Those words mean that others may live! Today’s verse speaks exactly what Jesus did for us – for all – that others may live. He laid down His life. How far are we willing to go for another? Do we just sit Sunday mornings and listen, or do we take the message home and live it so others may live?
Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.
