Daily Devotional for Wednesday March 14, 2018

James 5:11 (ESV) Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

For hours we kept pouring water on the building, and yet the flames continued to grow. Today's verse speaks of remaining steadfast and even gives us an example. We were committed to putting the fire out, and that meant we had to be steadfast and remain that way until all the fire was out. In life, we may find ourselves going through things that seem to last a long time. We may have prayed and even thought of giving up, but the end of today's verse speaks of our Lord being compassionate and merciful. He will hear our cries and answer. So, DON'T GIVE UP! Keep praying through and remain steadfast!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
