Daily Devotional for Sunday March 11, 2018

Psalm 51:10 (NASB) Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

It just looked awful. After the snow melted, the yard looked terrible. Scattered around is debris that either fell with the snow or accumulated during the winter months, but the gardens and grass looked terrible. Today's verse speaks of asking God to create a clean heart and renew our spirit within us. No one really likes to clean out the garbage that makes the yard look bad, but it needs to be done. There is another part of our life that needs cleaning out as well. It’s the garbage of the world that seems to get trapped within our lives. Today's verse is David's cry to God after he sinned. Maybe we could learn from David and begin to clean out the sin that's in our life. This is the only way God can create a clean heart within us. After the yard was raked and cleaned, new grass begins to grow. God wants to allow our spirit to grow again. So, let's clean our lives up!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
