Romans 15:5 “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.” (ESV)
It takes me a little longer. It may seem strange. For a man with limited hearing, you would think tuning a guitar would be out of the question, but with the help of a little electronic device, I can get all the strings in the right notes. When the strings are not in the correct note, I can hear that something is wrong. The chords and music seem wrong. There is no harmony of the strings to make the songs sound like they should. Today's verse speaks of allowing our God of endurance and encouragement grant us to live in harmony with one another according to Christ Jesus. Like the strings on my guitar, if they aren't tuned correctly, they don't make the sounds that they should. It's just not enjoyable to play or listen to. I wonder if we sometimes are playing out of tune when we need to be in harmony with one another to make the beautiful music God intended in our life. Whether it's with our wives, families, our church, or communities, we need God to grant us to live in harmony. What instrument are you playing and is it in tune with those around you?
