Genesis 2:24 (NASB) For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
And it became one. I had to grind both pieces clean and clamp them together while I welded the pieces into one. Today's verse speaks about marriage, and how the two shall become one. I couldn't help but think how welding was like marriage. Where both pieces of metal were heated while a third was added making them one. Marriage of two not only takes some cleaning on both parts, but they are heated with the love of God, then they become one. Sure, some of my welds need to be redone. Some parts need to be re-welded, but when the joints are done well they become one strong piece… not unlike some marriages. If we keep God first and each other second, we can become one strong union. Does your marriage contain the weld of God to keep you as one?
