Psalm 18:2 (NASB) The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
It was shifting. I received a call from a customer, and the shed she built in her yard was shifting every time it rained. She went on to say that the doors and windows didn't work until the ground dried up. Today's verse speaks of the Lord as our Rock, our stronghold. When I examined the shed, I found that the builders placed the structure on the dirt. No stone. No foundation of any kind. It sat upon the dirt, and when the rains came, it shifted with the movement of the dirt. We lifted the shed and put a proper foundation down. The problem was fixed. In life, if we don't have the solid rock foundation of Jesus Christ, we will find our life shifting from this to that depending on how the rains of life fall. Let's not get caught in the rain but be set upon the foundation of Christ. If we do, we won't shift around!
