Ephesians 2:20-21 (ESV) “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.”
Building a home starts with the dream of two people, then the architect, then the engineer, then the builders, but even after all that it's still not complete. It is still just a house. It’s not yet a home. So it is with the church - built upon the cornerstone of Christ, then the apostles and prophets added foundation. But still, a church building is only a structure. The "real" church is visible when people worship, grow in the Word, proclaim Christ in the community, care for each other, etc. Jesus shows up. Finally, the church is alive. How are you letting Jesus make you into a contributor to the life in your church?
