Colossians 3:23 (NASB) Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

"I want to know who did this and I want to know now!" The foreman came into the backroom of the warehouse and demanded to know who did the work. The men and I just stood around, not sure if he was pleased or not. The day at work was kind of a low day, not much on the schedule as far as work was concerned. So while most of the men sat back and did really nothing, myself and two others began to clean up the shop and the warehouse. It had become a very disorganized mess with tools all over the place. Today's verse shares about work and how we should work heartily to the Lord rather than man. We could have just sat around like the other guys, but we decided to take pride in our work place. So, we cleaned it up-putting things where they belonged. The foreman was shocked and wanted to know who did it. What we didn't know was that he was to give the guys who did the work the next day off with pay. We didn't know that at the time; what we did know was that we worked for a higher purpose. When we keep our eyes on the Lord, we will find that doing "work" can be a pleasurable thing rather than just doing it to get the paycheck . How well are we representing Christ in our day-to-day labor? Something to think about as we go to work this week.
