2 Timothy 1:8 (ESV) “Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.”
Weddings. The union of two people who stand face to face in front of friends and family to pledge their love for each other, giving testimony to the world that they are in love. Today’s verse is about not being ashamed of the Lord or associated with those who share in the sufferings of Christ. What is it about sharing Jesus with others that keeps some of us so quiet and reserved? God has done (and is doing) much in our lives! Are we afraid of ridicule or embarrassment? Is the “in” crowd really so important? Or is there some part of us that holds back because we don’t really believe 100% what the Bible teaches us about God and how much He loves us? Look at the comparison again. A wedding is a display of wo people willing to publicly profess their love for each other even though they don’t know what the future holds. Our Christian walk is a daily profession of faith in Jesus (a daily wedding ceremony).
