Daniel 12:3 (ESV) “And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
I am blessed to have had parents who were wise; not in their own wisdom but in the Word-of-the-Lord wisdom. Yes, there is a difference. One is of the world and one is from out of this world! Today’s verse speaks about the ones who are wise to lead. Being a responsible parent or an adult goes beyond raising children or mentoring others. It means being responsible to all who observe our words and actions. This world can be a very bad place for a child, or it can be a place where they learn that people love them for who they are. Look at the faces of the world’s children. Sadly, in too many places, there aren’t many smiles. We have a responsibility to show them love and compassion. Practicing godly wisdom, living it out, and seeking its renewal in our minds daily will help us be the embodiment of Jesus to them. Even if their hair is a different color, or if their pants are pulled down lower than ours! Be wise. Practice wisdom alongside your faith. Being mentoring a young person and lead him or her in God’s wisdom.
