Daily Devotional for Friday July 13, 2018

Acts 11:20 (ESV) “But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus.”

I got to thinking that if I only talk about Jesus with those who happen to be within my inner circle (the people I know or come in contact with) the people outside my circle are left out!  That’s a problem. Matthew 28:19-20 commands me to go to all the world and tell people about Jesus. Do I play it safe by only sharing Christ when it’s easy? Should I walk outside my immediate circle and FIND someone to reach for Jesus? Don’t they have as much right to know about Jesus as me? I am so glad that Paul felt Gentiles were worth being with and reaching for Jesus. If Jesus was only for the Jews where would that leave me and my family? Jesus died for all of us! So I encourage you to turn our inner circle outwards. Go find someone and tell them about Jesus, somehow some way. Maybe you’ve been called to reach your neighborhood, your town, or even be missionary overseas? If we don’t step outside our immediate circle, people on the outside might never meet Jesus. What a tragic thought!
