Colossians 3:9 (ESV) “Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices.”

It is a sad fact of life, but we must admit that we lie. Each of us at one time or another has spoken falsely. Some people live a life of falsehood, keeping deep dark secrets within and thinking about it only when the Holy Spirit convicts them, or the lie is discovered. Often, we lie to ourselves, saying, “It’s not that bad,” or, “What will they think of me if it gets out?” For me it was anger and yelling at home. No one outside my immediate family knew—not the guys I worked with, not the people at my church. Everyone thought I was this great guy, but deep inside I was hurting. The lies were adding up and the pain was hurting people I loved. I needed to be set free. When I came clean with it all, came to Christ, repented, and asked for forgiveness from God and those I had hurt, I got a peace deep within me. It was so wonderful. I give God the glory! You can have this too, a peace about the situation that you’re in right now. The Truth will set you free. Give it a try. God will be there to help you and accept you. No more lies.
