Daily Devotional for Sunday July 01, 2018

Scripture:

Luke 7:20 (ESV) “And when the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?’”

Observation:

We were fighting a house fire and received a report there was a trapped person somewhere. We looked quickly and found him. As we grabbed the man and carried him away, I wondered if there was another. So we looked some more and found another unconscious man! We evacuated him, too. Today’s verse is about looking for the “One.” Sure, we had found the man in the fire building but what if we’d stopped looking because we were so glad to have found one. There was still ONE MORE! Too often in life, we search for the thing that will change our life. For some it’s money, recognition, or some type of status within our circle of peers. But the reality is there is only One, that is Jesus Christ. He found US, and he wants our help to find others. Have you found Him? If so, are you helping Jesus looking for one more?
