Psalm 90:17 (NASB)Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

Sometimes it's nice to put the cords away. I had a little project to do at my home, and instead of pulling out my power tools, I decided to work with my hand tools. You know, the ones that don't need any cords or power - just the strength of my hands. Today's verse speaks of letting the favor of the Lord be upon us and confirm the work of our hands. It was a great feeling as I cut, shaped, sanded, and molded the wood into the necessary pieces in order to finish the job. I got to thinking about all our electronic devices. Sure, it's great to text, email, FaceTime, and message each other, but nothing is like shaking the hand of a real person. Standing shoulder to shoulder, face to face, or sitting across from a real body and just talking. I think too often we let those moments of just getting together slip away. We can make excuses of how valuable our time is, but the reality is that there is no better time than time spent with another human being without being hooked to a cord, phone, or computer. Why not cut the cord and spend some quality time with someone this week - a friend, a stranger, a loved one and just talk? It will truly be a powerful experience with out the need of a battery!
