Proverbs 10:4 – “Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.” (NASB)

The tape measure was right in my truck. I was in a hurry and didn't feel like walking back to the truck to get the tape measure, so I just eye-balled it... which turned out to be a costly mistake as I ended up eating the material I bought because my "eyeball" was way off target. While doing some repair work for a customer, she asked if I could add some base trim around her kitchen. "No problem," I said as I eyed up the job and made a quick estimate of the material and cost to do it. When I brought the material back, I was way off with my measurements and had already cut the wood. Today's verse speaks of he who works with a negligent hand (AKA Lazy!) is poor where the hand of the diligent makes rich! There is that old saying "measure twice, cut once" and that doesn't cover just cutting wood. It can be applied to all areas of our life... negligence with the things of God will cost us plenty. So why not be rich in the Lord and measure our time with Him twice!
