Daily Devotional for Friday January 26, 2018

Colossians 3:16 (NASB) Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

While doing a minor repair on our vehicle, I realized that I wasn't exactly sure what to do next. I had to go back to the manual and re-read the section where it explained just how and what to take off when. Good thing I did or else I would have created a bigger problem than the one I started with. Today's verse speaks of letting God's Word richly dwell within us. It speaks about wisdom teaching, and how we are to admonish each other. The key to doing the repair on the vehicle was rather simple: go to the manual and look up what I needed to do and apply it. In life, we may think we know the right thing to do, but have we have gone back to God's manual to confirm that we are right? I thank God that the Bible isn't just for ministers and pastors to read out of Sunday mornings, but that anyone can open God's Word and find the wisdom within the pages. Are we letting it dwell within us and applying it to our life? When was the last time you opened His manual? Today's a great day to start!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
