1 Timothy 3:16 (NASB) By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.
We acted like 12-years-old kids. The news came out that a rather famous football star was stopping by the fire house. We began to act like we were little kids excited to meet this sports hero. As we waited for him to arrive, we began to discuss his stats: how many passes, how many yards per throw etc. Some guys even knew all his high school and college stats. Today's verse shares some things about the mystery of godliness and if you look close at the list, it describes one Man. When we finally met the sports hero, it occurred to me that he was just a man who used his gifts and talents to the best of his ability. When you look at the list from today's verse, think upon this: Jesus became a man and used the gifts and talents He had. Do we get as excited about meeting Christ as we do our sports heroes? Have you met the Man from today's scripture?
